Christmas Recital 2017

Here are the videos from the boys' piano recital.

We Three Kings (Micah)

God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen (Micah and Teacher)

Jolly Old St. Nicholas (Nathanael)

Jingle Bell Boogie (Nathanael and another student. Nathanael has the harder part and is all the low stuff you hear.)

Nathanael and Dan did so well together that the teacher wants them to start playing duets in a local competition in March. I'm sure you will see more from them soon. :)

Luke still takes guitar from John. He and Nathanael learned a piano and guitar duet called "Offering." Luke played this twice in December during two performances by our homeschool choir. Their director gives the opportunity for the kids to do some solo or small group performances during the concert. I am still working on uploading videos from the choir concert, so maybe that will be the next post. Luke is a very quiet singer and he wasn't singing into the mic so it's really hard to hear him. We didn't have the best sound set up at the nursing home. He was much easier to hear at the formal concert, however John and I were each holding a baby for that one, so neither of us filmed that performance.I'll put the lyrics below.

"Offering"

The sun cannot compare to the glory of Your love
There is no shadow in Your presence
No mortal man would dare to stand before Your throne
Before the Holy One of heaven

It's only by Your blood
And it's only through Your mercy
Lord, I come

I bring an offering
Of worship to my King
No one on earth deserves
The praises that I sing

Jesus, may You receive
The honor that You're due
O Lord, I bring an offering to You
I bring an offering to You

The sun cannot compare to the glory of Your love
There is no shadow in Your presence
No mortal man would dare to stand before Your throne
Before the Holy One of heaven

It's only by Your blood
And it's only through Your mercy
Lord, I come

I bring an offering
Of worship to my King
No one on earth deserves
The praises that I sing

Jesus, may You receive
The honor that You're due
O Lord, I bring an offering to You

I bring an offering
Of worship to my King
No one on earth deserves
The praises that I sing

Jesus, may You receive
The honor that You're due
O Lord, I bring an offering to You
O Lord, I bring an offering to You
O Lord, I bring an offering to You
I bring an offering to You

To You, my King, I bring an offering to You, Lord
Oh my King, Jesus, my King
I bring an offering to You, to You, my King
Oh, it's the least that I can do
Sacrifice of praise, offering, thanks and gratitude
To You, my King, to You

I bring an offering
Of worship to my King
No one on earth deserves
The praises that I sing

Jesus, may You receive
The honor that You're due
O Lord, I bring an offering to You
O Lord, I bring an offering to You
O Lord, I bring an offering to You

Baby J is home!

Thank you to everyone who was praying for our little dude. He was released from the hospital on Tuesday afternoon. He was there for four and a half days total. His breathing is so much better than it had been. They told me the nasty cough from RSV will remain for two more weeks. He coughs most right after eating, but other than that he's doing really well. His first night back here went better than I had thought it would and his breathing was good. He and I were able to get some decent sleep (thank you, Lord!!!).

I'm thankful for those who have been God's hands of help for us during this time. We've had a couple friends bring us meals and one of our friends also watched the kids while I went to pick Baby J up from the hospital, as John was at work. I've got another friend transporting my daughter 45 minutes away she she doesn't have to miss a birthday party she was excited to attend. It's been such a blessing to us to have help during this time. Thank you!!

Now to try to get back to normal...whatever that is!
